Down South once more...

Oh doom and gloom, returned south from Shetland at a stately 56 miles an hour maximum in a horsebox adapted to carry two of the motorbikes. Doom and gloom not at the speed, simply at the pain of leaving Shetland. Didn't have the finest of weather, but it was dry and managed to get out on the bikes a bit. Also bumped into a man from the Shetland Times who went off making favourable comments about a possible push for the book in his paper. Not the widest of circulations, but a discerning and critical readership for sure. Sold a few copies to some of the attendees of the Shetland Classic Motor Show 2010 - yet again a fine display, always something new and surprising to see, as well as the superb atmosphere and great welcome. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, even a conspicuous and very traditional grey-skinned bad tempered heroin addict had taken time off to go with a number of children, some of which were his own offspring I understand. He probably slipped in without paying - after all why waste good drug money on something as transient as a Motor Show - but it is the thought that counts, give the kids a day out and chemical dependency be damned!
