I was right...

I said that the August entry might be the only one for that month, and it was. Doesn't give me lottery-predicting ability, but nice to get something right.
Anyway, Bardolino was every bit as good as I hoped, so much so that it feels like years since I was there rather than just over a couple of weeks. But then it would be horrible to have a holiday you were actually glad to back from wouldn't it ?
Now the nights start to get longer, and there is that slight autumnal feel to mornings in particular. My sympathies go to all those who are working nights - not that there are many left in the modern Police world. They all seem to work 8 to 4 days, Monday to Friday, on a squad of some sort. I'm sure they work very hard, but I do think they miss out on some things.
Hypocritical of me really, as I now have the dubious honour of driving a desk. Speaking of driving, my general driving authority expires at the end of the month and oddly I can't think of a good reason or need to renew it. By a strange coincidence it expires the same distance from the end of my service as it was from the start of my service when I acquired it. Strange, but relatively unimportant I suppose!
If there is anyone out there please feel free to get in touch via this blog - if only to satisfy my curiosity as to whether anyone actually ever visits...
Let's see what September brings anyway.
