Time flies when you're having fun....

Blink and you'll miss it - I must have blinked and missed July, and the first week in August come to that...
Holidays are now even closer, and the plan is to use many idle hours to get stuck into some writing of the next book without the day to day distractions I normally have. Being realistic however, I can see the writing getting sidelined by other distractions - sunshine, drinks, a swimming pool, and peace and quiet. Lake Garda is not renowned as a lively or desparately active area, which suits me fine. The most disruptive activity is the weekly market which is well worth a visit as long as you don't mind being elbowed out of the way by large German women, and having the skin ground off your ankles by the occasional pushchair. Actually it is probably better than that makes it sound, and provides me with my preferred level of exercise - a gentle stroll on flat ground.
To the outside observer this may sound a bit sad, but I keep going back to Bardolino and enjoy doing everything at a much slower pace, apart from getting through money of course. Every time I go I mean to do something like going up to the top of a mountain on some cable car thing, but if the weather is good then I'd rather relax, and if the weather is bad there's no point going up a mountain is there?
At this rate this may be the only August post, but as nobody seems to read this then it hardly matters. Mind you most bloggers seem to be moving to Wordpress so maybe I should look at that and see what's involved.
Time will tell.
